A man faces charges for ramming a car in a bar parking lot and seriously injuring a man

Charleston man is accused of ramming a vehicle and pinning a man against a Kanawha County business Sunday. 39-year old Adam Fujita of Charleston was charged after an incident early Sunday at the Elk River Bar and Grill in the 2400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said Fujita, who was at the bar, allegedly became disorderly and got into arguments with several people. He left the parking lot in his SUV before returning and intentionally ramming a parked car there.

Eyewitness News said the impact pushed the car into the victim, pinning him against the building and causing significant damage to the bar. The man, who suffered life-threatening injuries in the incident, had to be extricated from the wreckage by firefighters. No details were provided on his current condition. Deputies said they determined Fujita was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time.
