A West Virginia man faces a charge for hitting a child

A Lincoln County man is accused of punching a child in the chest last week. 31-year old Joshua Wilson of Hamlin was charged with child abuse resulting in injury after an incident Wednesday at a home in Hamlin, according to a criminal complaint filed in Lincoln County Magistrate Court. A woman said her daughter was trying to wake Wilson up about 9:45 p.m. when he allegedly struck the child in the chest with the back of a closed fist. Wilson is being held on a $10,000 bond.
