Some drivers were stuck in traffic for more than six hours on Friday following a semi trailer fire on US 35 in Mason County. Eyewitness News said that, despite the stress, some drivers got out of their cars and met other stranded drivers from across the country. The semi accident happened around 7 a.m. Friday and traffic came to a standstill near mile marker 19 as first responders put out the fire. Drivers were diverted onto Route 817 and past a family owned eatery where employees said they enjoyed meeting more people. There were no injuries in the accident.
