Calhoun County bus driver accused of DUI has his trial rescheduled

The trial for a man accused of crashing a school bus while driving under the influence in Calhoun County has been moved. Our news partners at Eyewitness News said Jeffrey Brannon is facing DUI and child neglect charges stemming from a rollover crash in March 2024 that injured 19 students. Investigators said Brannon was driving an after-school activity bus from Calhoun Middle-High School at the time of the crash. Troopers recorded the man’s blood alcohol level at .127. The wreck led to an investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board and upgraded charges for Brannon. The trial has been rescheduled for April 15 due to a low pool of jurors.
