Governor names replacement for de Soto

Gov. Patrick Morrisey has appointed a replacement for the 91st House District after former Delegate-elect Joseph de Soto was arrested and his seat vacated for threatening to kill other delegates. Ian Masters, a lawyer based out of Gerrardstown, was selected by the newly elected governor to replace de Soto’s seat in the West Virginia House of Delegates, according to a news release from the Office of the Governor. Masters is also the president of the West Virginia Citizens Defense League, a pro-gun lobbying group.
