West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey becomes the state’s governor today. A swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the West Virginia Capitol to be followed by a parade, according to a news release from Morrisey’s inaugural committee. The procession will start at 1:30 p.m., traveling Kanawha Boulevard, Morris Street and California Avenue. Kanawha Boulevard will be closed in both directions from Chesapeake Avenue to Clendenin Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to a notice from Capitol Police. A concert is scheduled for 5:30 at the Charleston Coliseum. The inauguration team has a public fireworks show planned for 7:30 p.m. outside the Charleston Civic Center.
