A Lincoln County woman hired as a caregiver for a man with Alzheimer’s disease is accused of making dozens of purchases on his credit card and stealing a check. Court records show 41-year old Amber Salmons of Branchland is charged with financial exploitation of an elderly person and other charges dating back to 2023. She’s accused of making at least 28 purchases totaling more than $2,500 using the 82-year-old Putnam County man’s credit card. Salmons was hired in April 2023 to be the caregiver for the man and was fired in mid July of 2023, according to the complaint filed in Putnam County Magistrate Court. She was arrested in January 2025 and is currently being held on a $5,000 surety/cash bond.
