People who live in Mingo County said they’ve never experienced flooding like this before. Some said they had only minutes to escape from their homes, and some of which were deemed a total loss. Eyewitness News spoke with several homeowners who have lost everything. Some where awakened by neighbors and helped to safety. An emergency shelter is open in Williamson for anybody looking for a warm meal, or a roof over their heads, run by the Williamson Parks and Rec Commission. Mingo County Schools will be closed until further notice.
