The home of the Marshall Thundering Herd is undergoing a $2 million renovation project. On Wednesday, the Marshall Board of Governors approved construction of the Shewey Deck by the football field. The deck will include field level seating, club space and an outside deck on the existing Shewey building. Eyewitness News said university funding will not be used for the project. Instead, the Thunder Trust, Marshall’s NIL collective, will handle financing. Membership costs for the Shewey Deck have been set at $2,500 for the season with the goal of collecting about 1,000 members. Marshall hopes to have the addition completed in time for the 2025 football season.
