Bluefield man faces charges for stealing from a mine site

A Mercer County man is accused of stealing explosives from a mine site in southern West Virginia. 40-year old Garnett A. Rocchi of Bluefield is charged with possession of stolen explosives as part of an investigation dating back to December 2024, according to a news release from West Virginia State Police. Rocchi is accused of stealing explosives from Bluestone Coal Site 34 in the Burke Mountain area of Wyoming County on Dec. 7, 2024. He is being held on a $10,000 bond.
