Crews responded to a vehicle fire along Interstate 77 in Kanawha County Thursday evening, firefighters said. The incident was reported at about 7 p.m. near the Haynes Branch Exit. According to the Sissonville Fire Department, the bus was carrying three coaches and 18 players for a girl’s lacrosse team out of Medina, Ohio. No injuries were reported after bystanders helped get the team off the bus. The team was taken back to the fire station to get cleaned up, eat and contact family as they waited for another bus. The Department of Environmental Protection also responded after nearly 50 gallons of diesel fuel leaked. Most of the team’s equipment was saved.
