A child was injured after being hit by a car in Charleston Wednesday evening near the intersection of Mary Street and Crescent Road. According to Charleston police, the juvenile walked out into the roadway where they were hit by a slow-moving vehicle. An adult attempted to protect the child, but was struck as well. The child was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The adult was not injured.
