Clendenin has welcomed a new boat ramp on the banks of the Elk River. Local residents and business owners said they’re excited about the new addition and what it could bring to Clendenin. The new boat ramp cost $800,000 to construct, Mayor of Clendenin Kay Summers said the West Virginia DNR covered the cost for the ramp. Summers also said the ramp provides more to the town than just a place to launch boats or kayaks.”There’s places to play, they can have picnics,” Summers said. “And this is just something they can come, and even like somebody said, they can have their prom pictures taken here. So this little piece of land is just adding so much value and some of it will build so many memories for so many people.”
