The Kanawha-Charleston Board of Health has opened a 30-day public comment period seeking input on a proposal to allow smoking in a portion of the Mardi Gras Casino. The move comes after Mardi Gras Casino & Resort made a proposal last fall to amend the county’s indoor air regulations to allow smoking in a segregated portion of its casino. Eyewitness News said the proposal only seeks a chance to allow for cigarette smoking, but not pipes, cigars or vapes. Written public comments are accepted through Friday, May, 2 at 4 p.m. Anonymous public comments will not be considered. You can send those in to the Kanawha-Charleston Board of Health.
