A grand jury handed down indictments this week, including one for Amber Seiler, a former daycare worker at a Cross Lanes child care facility who is accused of assaulting children with special needs. Seiler was indicted on charges of felony battery and assault of a disabled child and misdemeanor battery. She’s accused of hitting children with special needs and spitting on a 4-year-old. Seiler was able to be indicted and charged with the felony due to a law passed in 2022 that provides stronger penalties for abusing children with special needs in classrooms.
