The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding a man that is wanted following a pursuit Thursday that injured a deputy. Tyler Dante Leach, 25, of Charleston is wanted for failure to appear in court, along with multiple felony charges including obstructing an officer, violation of probation, fleeing with reckless indifference and fleeing causing bodily harm following a chase in the Coopers Creek area, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. Deputies said they located Leach on Thursday when he allegedly began fleeing on foot into a wooded area. A deputy chasing him suffered a severe hand injury during the incident, causing him to end the chase, the news release said. The deputy who was injured was taken to a local hospital. The news release said he did not suffer life-threatening injuries, but the injury is expected to impact his mobility for an extended period of time.
