Residents in two more West Virginia counties are now eligible to receive Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits. Those who don’t normally receive SNAP and live or worked in Logan or Wayne counties and were impacted by flooding from Feb. 15 to March 16 may be eligible for the disaster benefits. The eligibility, which begins March 24, can be used to purchase food, but cannot be used to buy alcoholic beverages, tobacco or non-food items. The West Virginia Department of Human Services said previously that McDowell, Mercer, Mingo and Wyoming counties were approved for the D-SNAP benefits.
