A man faces charges in Nicholas County woman’s death

A man accused of fatally shooting a woman following a verbal altercation at a Nicholas County trailer park has been criminally charged. James Dodrill of Mt. Lookout has been charged with second-degree murder for the death of Porschia Selman, according to a criminal complaint filed in Nicholas County Magistrate Court. West Virginia State Police responded to a Buddy Lane home where Dodrill told troopers he had accused Selman of cheating on him, spurring an argument. Records said Dodrill admitted to shooting Selman in the head with a handgun and the woman’s body was found inside the trailer. Eyewitness News reported that Dodrill told investigators the pair had used methamphetamine prior to the argument.
