The Boone County Sheriff’s Office said a man was shot in Boone County after allegedly forcefully entering another man’s home on Thursday. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office was called to a shooting about 10:30 a.m. Thursday on Hurricane Branch Road in the Manila area. A homeowner at the scene said he had shot an acquaintance after an altercation where the suspect, identified as Billy Wheatley, 43, had forcefully entered the man’s home. Deputies said Wheatley was found shortly after at his own residence on Hurricane Branch Road. He was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound and was treated and released to deputies.
