The Gauley Bridge train station opened in 1893 and once ushered people from out town into the area searching for work in the coal industry. Now, more than 60 years since the last train arrived at the station, Eyewitness News said it is opening its doors to travelers in the form of an Airbnb. The new lodging option is a few minutes from both Cathedral Falls and Kanawha Falls. Mayor of Gauley Bridge Bob Scott said that he hopes with the new addition that travelers will make Gauley Bridge a destination.
