A landslide has caused an extended road closure for a state road in Mingo County, emergency personnel said Friday. The slide was reported on Route 80 near mile marker 5, making the roadway impassible, according to a social media post from Mingo County Emergency Management. The post crews expect the route to be closed for one to two days while the area is cleared. Transportation officials said traffic is being diverted onto U.S. 52 and Route 44 while the road is blocked.
