Marshall University announced a renowned author, journalist and philanthropist will speak at 2025’s spring graduation ceremonies. Soledad O’Brien will be the a keynote speaker during commencement ceremonies scheduled for Saturday, May 10 at the Marshall Health Network Arena in Huntington, according to a news release from the university. O’Brien has reported on weather, politics and local news, including the university’s Marshall For All: Debt Free Program. In addition to her work with CNN, NBC, HBO and PBS, O’Brien has appeared at Huntington’s Women Warriors Summit.
After providing inspiration to undergraduates and graduates, O’Brien will be given an honorary degree from the university.
