West Virginia Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Walker has plans to retire, effective June 27. Walker intends to leave before her current term expires at the end of 2028. The vacancy will require Gov. Patrick Morrisey to make an appointment prior to an election being held. Eyewitness News said Walker has plans to pursue other interests and spend time with family.
