Two additions have been made to a list of West Virginia counties eligible for federal aid following winter floods. Boone and Raleigh County may apply for individual and public assistance after severe weather impacted portions of West Virginia in February. FEMA offers individual assistance to those who experienced significant damage to property or homes while public assistance provides grants to agencies and nonprofit organizations to cover costs for the removal of debris, the restoration of infrastructure and emergency protective measures.
Individual assistance is available for residents in Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Raleigh, Wayne and Wyoming counties. Public assistance has been approved for Boone, Greenbrier, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monroe, Raleigh, Summers, Wayne and Wyoming counties.
