It’s been nearly five years since 44-year-old John Jackson was murdered and set on fire inside an apartment in Williamson. During all of this time, his family has not been able to lay him to rest as they have been waiting for his remains to be released from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Charleston. This case has already netted three convictions and sentences, but despite efforts from the family and investigators, the remains could not be released from the office until he was positively identified, which Eyewitness News said just happened last Thursday. His family laid him to rest on Wednesday afternoon.
