Charleston’s Multifest needs donations to continue the tradition

For 35 years, Multifest has been bringing free entertainment to Charleston, but First Baptist Church Pastor Paul Dunn told Eyewitness News that funding for this year’s event is down and in need of help from the community. He said it brings an economic impact of six to seven million dollars to the area. Dunn said that the 35th annual Multifest, which brings a basketball tournament, live music and much more to the riverfront in Charleston, will need the full support of the community to make sure that the event goes on as planned. Organizers said that scammers have popped up and have been pretending to be involved with Multifest. If you plan on donating to the event only go through the official Multifest website.
