Children’s Theatre to expand into their own space

The Children’s Theatre of Charleston has been taking the stage for 93 years, but they’ve never had a permanent home. Now with the help of $80,000 from the Kanawha County Commission allocated to the theatre for a down payment on a new location, that dream is becoming a reality. Eyewitness News spoke with General Manager LeeAnne Rheinlander, who said they couldn’t have done it without the help of the county commission. The theatre puts on three large productions a year that include casts of more than 60 children that are free of charge for those who participate.
