There are 27 temporary urns at Elk Funeral and Cremation Services in Charleston with no final resting place. The business recently posted on social media that the urns remain unclaimed, and listed each person by name and birth/death date. Funeral home owner Dale Burger told Eyewitness News that this is a common occurrence, but they’re on a mission to find the rightful owners. He purchased the funeral home back in 2023 and has been making some changes, including finding homes for the unclaimed cremations.
