Nightly closures have been happening for inspections this week on the Dunbar Toll Bridge. It will be closed again tonight from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to a social media post from WV-511. Last year, the West Virginia Division of Highways discussed the future of the 70-year-old bridge which has received poor ratings in the Federal Highway Administration’s National Bridge Inventory, but is still safe to use. Eyewitness News said efforts to rehab or rebuild the bridge are expected to start in 2028.
