Independence Road in Jackson County will be closed during daytime hours each day through Friday due to ongoing highway work, according to a press release from the West Virginia Department of Transportation.
The closure affects Jackson County Route 33/12, also known as Independence Road, from milepost 0.0 to milepost 1.38. The road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily beginning Monday, May 5, for a pipe replacement project. It is expected to fully reopen to traffic by Friday evening, May 9.
While the road will be closed to general traffic during work hours, accommodations will be made for school buses. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes and be aware that the schedule may be adjusted in the event of inclement weather.
