The St. Albans Police Department is getting a tech upgrade. Officers will soon be equipped with body cameras and new dashboard cams.
Mayor Scott James told Eyewitness News the two systems will work hand-in-hand—especially during traffic stops—to improve transparency and accountability.
The total cost will be round $150,000, partially paid for with a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Community Oriented Policing Services program.
The equipment is expected to arrive about a month after it’s ordered.
