Two people have been arrested in a multi-county counterfeiting scheme.
Zacchaeus S. Barnes, 31, of Montgomery, Ala., and Lorsharieria A. Barnes, 33, of Tampa, Fla., face charges, according to a news release from West Virginia State Police. Troopers said they were alerted to the alleged scheme after a business in Summersville reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill from two people. Eyewitness News reported the two were found in possession of several hundred dollars in counterfeit currency along with receipts from several retail locations around West Virginia. The investigation could result in more charges.
