Charleston’s Capitol Market was recognized Friday for being listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The marketplace joins other Charleston sites, including the Kanawha County Courthouse, Garnett High School and the Daniel Boone Hotel, on the register for its historical significance. Once a railroad depot that helped to connect and grow the capital city in the late 1800s, revitalization efforts saw the property repurposed in 1997.The structure now serves as a hub for farmers, artisans and small businesses.
