A man was sentenced to more than a decade in prison this week after the search of a Kanawha County home revealed more than 2 pounds of illegal drugs, firearms and cash. 44-year old Jason Minter of Charleston was sentenced to 12 years and three months in prison to be followed by four years of supervised release time for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl and violating supervised release, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia. A search of Minter’s home in September 2024 revealed drugs and weapons, according to the news release. At the time of the search, Minter was being supervised due to previous convictions on drug and gun charges.
