President Brad D. Smith gets a contract extension at Marshall University

Marshall University officials made a unanimous decision this week to extend the contract of President Brad Smith for three years. Chair Geoff Shells credited Smith with helping reverse a 13-year trend of declining enrollment over the past three years, along with establishing the Marshall for All program, making post-secondary education more affordable for eligible freshmen. Marshall University will retain Smith through 2029. Smith graduated from Marshall in 1986 and later became the first alumnus to become the school’s president. He has also served as the CEO of Intuit and established the Wing 2 Wing Foundation.
