Wayne County officials have three new, $300,000 Advanced Life Support ambulances for their new county-operated ambulance service that launched on Sunday. HealthNet Areomedical Services, which manages county ambulances in Calhoun and Marshall counties, will manage the new program. The county aims to increase reponse times with the new service. Future plans call for temporarily basing two on-duty county ambulances in Prichard and Genoa until permanent stations can be built over the next 18 months.
