A third person is charged in Ritter Park beating case

A third man has been arrested in connection with the beating of an autistic man in Ritter Park. Huntington police officers have charged 20-year old Matthew Diamond of South Shore, Kentucky with conspiracy to commit a felony. Detectives said Diamond is the person who filmed the beating of a 22-year old man on July 16th at Ritter Park and shared the recording. Police said the victim went to the park because he thought he was meeting a girl. When he got there, he was beaten for 45 minutes by two men he didn’t know. He suffered a broken jaw, broken nose, broken eye socket and multiple face fractures. Police also arrested James Clapper and Brock Mazdra in Flatwoods, Kentucky in connection with the beating. They are both charged with felony malicious assault.
