Boone County delegate is named new leader of the West Virginia GOP

A Boone County House of Delegates member and substitute teacher is the new head of West Virginia’s Republican Party. 23-year old Del. Josh Holstein was named the new leader of the GOP in a 63-57 vote. Holstein has an online media and advertising business and vows to bring the various factions of the party together. Holstein will replace Matt Herridge, who recently announced he would be vacating the position to take on the role of Secretary of Commerce. Republicans hold all statewide elected offices along with a supermajority in both chambers of the West Virginia Legislature.
