Crews make short-term repairs to the Fort Hill Bridge

Multiple lanes of Interstate 64 are impacted this week as crews make road repairs. The westbound middle and fast lanes closed on the Fort Hill Bridge in Charleston Wednesday to repair a three-by-three foot hole in the bridge deck, according to a news release from West Virginia Department of Transportation. The center lane will remain closed until the concrete cures. This comes after multiple closures on the stretch of roadway in recent weeks. State officials said the plan is to bid out a project for extensive patching in the fall and then have the deck replaced in 2027. The Fort Hill Bridge is one of the most heavily traveled bridges in West Virginia.
