Disability services nationwide are at risk of losing their funds. The West Virginia University Center for Excellence in Disabilities services could be on the chopping block by the fall. WVU CED Director Lesly Cottrell told Eye Witness News “”We’re the only one in West Virginia. We have a high rate of disability. The need requires us to look at all disabilities and all ages,” “there is no safety net if the current infrastructure no longer exists because it’s not just us. It’s the state advocates. If ADA isn’t followed, there’s a lot of units that serve in their own way being affected by this.” WVU CED offers different programs to help people with disabilities be as independent as possible.
