Grant funds will add more truck parking in West Virginia

Senate leadership announced a $24.8 million grant will go towards the expansion of truck parking in West Virginia. The Senate Appropriations Committee allocated money for the West Virginia Department of Transportation by way of the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development grant program. The grant money will help build additional parking for truckers at Division of Highways facilities along Interstate 81, 64 and 79 in Berkley, Cabell and Monongalia Counties. U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito it will help with the movement of goods and therefore economic development.
