At the end of the week, a new law will go into effect that will allow the state to hire a full-time Dementia Services Director. Delegate Walter Hall, R-Kanawha, was the lead sponsor of the bill to create the position. He is part of the state’s Alzheimer’s task force that was created by one of his bills last year. The state director will be responsible for finding grant dollars, according to Hall. Eyewitness News said this will pave the way for untapped funding but could help streamline communication and savings for the whole state.
