One arrest made in middle school burglary case

One of the two suspects accused of breaking into East Bank Middle School and stealing several thousand dollars worth of items has been taken into custody. 36-year old Mark Mullins of East Bank was identified through tips from the public and arrested Thursday morning on breaking and entering and grand larceny charges, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. Mullins was one of two men pictured on surveillance video roaming the school’s hallways on July 1. Several stolen items were recovered, including a Kenwood IRP Digital Radio Base Station valued at $6,000, and five laptop computers. The sheriff’s office said it is continuing to follow up on leads related to the second suspect.
