Untility bill help is available for low-income families

Applications for funding to support low-income families needing energy assistance will be accepted soon. The West Virginia Department of Human Services will be accepting applications for the Emergency Low-Income Energy Assistance Program beginning Monday, July 28, through Friday, Aug. 8, or until funds are exhausted. In addition to helping with energy emergencies, the program can also help with cooling costs. Eligibility for E-LIEAP is determined based on household income, household size and whether the household is responsible for paying utility costs. You can apply at a West Virginia DoHS office.
