City of Charleston opens application period for opioid settlement grant funding

Charleston Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin announced the launch of a new opioid settlement grant funding opportunity this week. The program will invest settlement funds in initiatives that support prevention, treatment, and recovery in Charleston. The city also said in a news release that the grant program will use prevention to decrease the oversupply of opioids.The grant program is in partnership with the United Way of Central West Virginia. To apply for the Charleston Opioid Settlement Grant and learn about the requirements, go to www.unitedwaycwv.org/opioid. The deadline to apply is Sept. 5 at 5 p.m., according to the city.
