Former Marmet Elementary may house a healthcare clinic

A public meeting was held in Marmet Tuesday night to discuss Prestera opening a primary care facility in part of the former Marmet Elementary school. The building has been costly for the town to keep up, and Mayor Frances Armentrout said the town would like to rent it. Eyewitness News reported a portion of it is being utilized by the Marmet Police Department and other parts are being used for different community events. Prestera, a non profit that provides health services across West Virginia, has been speaking with Marmet city leaders for a few months to discuss possibly bringing a primary care facility in. Prestera and the town of Marmet have not made any decisions and are continuing discussion.
