Georgia man is sentenced on West Virginia weapons charges

A Georgia man who pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm has been sentenced. 43-year old Jeremiah Gray of Blue Ridge, Georgia, has been sentenced to one year and four months in prison, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia. Police responded to reports of an armed person at a Walmart in Jackson County, Ohio last July. Gray identified himself to police before taking off in a vehicle without a license plate. That led to a police chase and the arrest. Officers found two loaded guns in the vehicle. Eyewitness News said Gray originally pleaded not guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, but eventually pleaded guilty.
