Huntington launches a program to help homeless veterans

A new pilot program for veterans is coming to Huntington. The city is teaming up with the Veterans Affairs Administration in an effort to eliminate veteran homelessness. The VA Homeless Veterans Surge Event kicked off “Mission Zero” as the program aims to connect unsheltered veterans with resources like behavioral and physical health care and essential hygiene items. The city will also host landlord education events and align resources so agencies are better able to work together.
