Huntington shooting suspect has previous convictions

A man with a previous murder conviction has been arrested in a deadly shooting investigation in Huntington. 62-year old Carson Jeffers of Huntington has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 60-year-old Michael Christian, according to a news release from the Huntington Police Department. Christian was found dead Tuesday morning at a home in the 500 block of Sixth Avenue. Police said they believe the incident was isolated and that Jeffers targeted Christian following an ongoing verbal dispute. WCHS TV said Jeffers has a lengthy criminal record that includes a previous second-degree murder conviction in the shooting death of a man on West 17th Street in 2007.
