Huntington woman to be sentenced in December for COVID fraud

A Huntington woman has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $91,000 in COVID-19 relief funds. According to federal prosecutors, 46-year-old Tanisha Wooding admitted in court to fraudulently applying for multiple government loans between July 2020 and June 2021. Wooding secured four Paycheck Protection Program loans totaling over $81,000, and an additional $10,000 through an Economic Injury Disaster Loan. On the applications, she falsely claimed to own several businesses—including an insurance agency, a carpet cleaning company, and a tax service. Wooding is scheduled for sentencing on December 1st.
